We live in turbulent and troubled times: It is as though we are standing on shifting sands when we encounter the world of politics, economics and social justice. A core question for these three sessions is how we can help to prepare young people for a future that is likely to be unstable and divided.
Session 1: How do our Waldorf high school students view the world they are facing and how are they responding? What insights can we gain from Rudolf Steiner with respect to social interactions in the future? How can these insights inform what we teach and how we teach?
Session 2: Laying a foundation for an understanding of the threefold social order. We will take examples from class one onwards to show how we can foster a true feeling for brotherhood in our teaching, This can be seen as a preparation for the high school years.
Session 3: Economics as a subject in high school. Unravelling the complexities of economics and politics in the world today. How can we guide students to critically assess the economic models that are taught today? In looking at these complexities we can foster literacy in the fields of economics and politics.
