The educational potential of Music as both an artistic activity and a teaching tool is immense. Likewise, it is a source of joy, inspiration and empowerment. Almost everyone has a personal connection to Music, especially adolescents, so how do we facilitate musical growth whilst nurturing this most social of art forms within a Waldorf school?
Julian Rolton has worked extensively as a freelance pianist: as soloist, accompanist, chamber musician and orchestral player in concert and on recordings. For many years, in addition to being a Music Teacher, he has been a High School Guardian at Michael Hall School, the oldest continually existing Waldorf School in the world. Having the chance to work with young people through Music both in class and on stage is his great joy.
